Sakuma Shuri (23, Daito Kentetsu), the 2025 season points leader on the Japan LPGA, posted an update on Instagram after the final round of the World Salonpas Cup, held on Sunday. After struggling to an 81 in the third round with two birdies, nine bogeys, and one double bogey, she entered the final day in 24th place. But she fought back brilliantly, carding a 69 with four birdies and one bogey to climb to sixth.
“I honestly felt like my head and body were about to explode,” she wrote candidly in her post. “But still, I’m so happy to finish in the top 10!! Thank you for this week as well!” She also expressed gratitude to her mother: “And today is Mother’s Day – thank you for always.” She added the hashtags “#81to69” and “#PeopleCanChangeInOneDay.”
