Former world wrestling champion and current boxer Miyu Yamamoto (51) has shared a heartwarming photo with her daughter, Mia Yamamoto (17), who is now a model. The mother-daughter duo posed together for Mother’s Day, with Miyu posting on Instagram: “Have a wonderful day everyone.”

In the picture, Miyu wears a camisole while holding a bouquet of flowers, presumably a gift from her daughter. Their smiling mouths bear a striking resemblance. Mia began her modeling career this March, signing with the same agency as her mother, U-PROJECT. According to the agency’s official profile, Mia was born on November 28, 2008, in Innsbruck, Austria, and stands at 170 cm tall. Her background includes growing up in a sports family, engaging in wrestling from elementary to middle school, and later golf during junior high and high school. She aims to forge her own path while appreciating the influence of her family, always staying true to herself and spreading positive energy and love.
Mia’s Instagram often features family members. In a March post, she shared photos from a trip to Sydney, including a swimsuit shot with her mother.
Miyu Yamamoto is a three-time world champion in wrestling. She transitioned to mixed martial arts in 2016, competing in RIZIN. She retired from MMA after losing to RIZIN Super Atomweight champion Seika Izawa on New Year’s Eve 2023. In March of this year, she made her professional boxing debut in Sydney, Australia, under the Neutral Corner Promotions banner. Despite losing by decision to Michelle Mack (Australia) in a six-round bout at 51.0 kg, the 51-year-old continues to embrace new challenges.
Miyu is also the sister of the late MMA fighter KID Yamamoto, who passed away in September 2018 at age 41, and the sister-in-law of baseball pitcher Yu Darvish (San Diego Padres), who is married to former world wrestling champion Seiko Yamamoto.
