The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has released the audio from the officiating crew of the match between Palmeiras and Remo, which ended in a 1-1 draw in the 15th round of the Brasileirão.

The game featured a disallowed goal for Palmeiras in the final minutes, as well as a red card for Remo’s Zé Ricardo after VAR reviews.

During stoppage time, Palmeiras had a goal ruled out due to a handball by Flaco López before the ball fell to Bruno Fuchs to score. Referee Rafael Klein (RS) was called to the monitor by VAR official Rafael Traci (SC).

“There’s a handball. The ball then falls to the white-shirted player who scores. I am disallowing the goal and awarding an indirect free kick for a punishable handball, okay?” Klein said.

The match also saw Zé Ricardo sent off after a VAR check. He had initially received a yellow card for a foul on Andreas Pereira. Following the review, Klein overturned the yellow and showed a red card.

“The ball is not in dispute, and he strikes the opponent with his knee in the middle of the back. To me, it’s not reckless—it’s violent conduct. Rafa, I recommend you review this for possible violent conduct,” Traci advised.

After Traci called Klein to the monitor, the referee agreed: “Perfect, Traci. The white-shirted player [Andreas] has his back to the play, makes the pass, the ball is no longer in dispute, and player number 55 [Zé Ricardo] delivers a knee strike. I will change my decision to a red card.”
