The goal came from a lofted pass by Léo Ortiz, which allowed Emerson Royal to break into the box. The right-back delivered a first-time pass back across goal, and Carrascal, also on the volley, fired a left-footed shot past Weverton to finally find the net.
How the match unfolded:
Grêmio and Flamengo produced an eventful first half at the Arena, with the visitors dominating offensively. Flamengo pressed from the opening minutes but failed to turn their superiority into a goal before the break. Leonardo Jardim’s side piled on the shots, forcing Grêmio goalkeeper Weverton into several saves.

The teams returned for the second half in a similar pattern: Flamengo camped in attack while Grêmio sat deep, waiting for a counter. The pressure finally paid off in the 23rd minute, when Emerson Royal’s cross found Carrascal, who smashed it first-time into the net to open the scoring.
